Those games are still very popular, even the much "hated" Chrono Cross.  I can't explain why though but they are.

I think the fact that there are wrapped copies of those games available would tip anyone off.

This is why backward compatibility is so important, think in 300 years in future, people just won't play games from our time? I mean, we have books that still being made after 4000 years after release, I would like the same to happens with some games.

All PS1 games are b/c, if you have the right PS3 it's PS2 b/c aswell, but as soon as the PS2 is discontinued then they'll bring back b/c, the PS2 is still pretty important to them, b/c on the PS3 will basically just kill the PS2 which is a big no no for Sony.

All Playstation games will eventually be put on the PSN in a few years time so we'll be able to enjoy em all without having to worry about high prices or rare games.

This is a wish of mine as well but I won't hold my breath on it. The devs of some of those games are probably out of business. Who will sony get permission from?

Well all the important ones should make it lol

Take a look on ebay, there is a lot of old factory sealed NES games. This does not mean they are still produced in factory...

Take a look on ebay, there is a lot of old factory sealed NES games. This does not mean they are still produced in factory...

no, no. Not ebay but from legitimate retailers. Local shops get shipments of these games all the time from Square.

I can't believe this. I havent seen those games in a local shop since years. Plus some of these games are PS1. There is no way a local retailer received new copies of these games.
