Biggest jump from success to failure...FFX-2. Terrible game.

It definitely didn't fail sales-wise. As for the game itself, it wasn't bad, just different from people's expectations.

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

I agree. I loved FFX-2, and I still think it has the best battle system of all FFs.

Well, from my knowledge Tomb Raider emo (or whatever the hell it was called) is the only game that completely destroyed a super popular video game series.

You mean Tomb Raider (6) The Angel of Darkness ?

(Chronicles was also very dissapointing)

Yup, that's it.

Although I guess you could blame Eidos for destroying it in more than one way ( endless game sequels, bad movies, and so on)

But the new games have been good from what i've heard, they just don't have that US fanbase to sell very well in the states. I think with the recent games that could change eventually, but not soon.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

It used to be popular in the United States but Angel of Darkness soured the experience for a lot of the fanbase.

Many will not agree with me, but I feel FFVII destroyed FF for me (this opinion will only be shared by older SNES gamers).

Oh, I'll agree with you on this one. FF7 severely reduced my interest in anything with the Final Fantasy name.

However, I'll chime in with another vote for Chrono Cross. It was supposed to be the sequel to Trigger (one of the best games ever), and instead slaps us in the face with what they did to the old characters.

I haven't played Chrono Cross, so out of curiosity, what did they do to the old characters?

tekken 4, after tekken 3, it was all blah.
