Why?  I am one of the biggest fans of the Zelda series ever, but I never liked Zelda II.  It is an average game compared to any other game, but an average game is terrible compared to the Zelda series.  I might buy the VC version and replay it before the summer ends to make sure my verdict is accurate.

You want the reasons?

1. He was Error

2. You followed women into their houses to regain health

3. The cities were large and you could find magic

4. Caves were dark and eerie

5. You always started at Zeldas side

6. The Layout was great - shortcuts would open with items you got

7. The Boss battles were battles, not slumber parties like in all other Zelda games

8. He was Error

9. It came in a golden cartridge

10. Fairies fit through keyholes.

For me it has to be Final Fantasy X-2

I can not believe that Square thought that was good enough to release. That game broke me of my 100% devotion to Square, prior to that game I wouldn't buy EVERY Square game but I would buy a game full price, not read reviews, and have no question that I would enjoy it on some level.

I liked FFX at the time but I hated the ending so I was hoping with FFX-2 it was just they ended things the way they did for that new game which would be an awesome ending, cool characters, etc. and no it made me want to break the disc and got me to quit fooling myself into liking FFX.

FFX-2 had a good battle-system, but was hated for it's girly theme and story. I think Grandia 3 is hated for similiar reason for having one of the best battle-systems but a mediocore story compared to 1 and 2.
