Forums - Gaming - After playing Killzone 2, will Modern Warfare 2 disappoint graphically?

You like to make controversial topics, eh?

OT: No, as they both look great.

It really doesn't matter if MW2 looks better then KZ2. Infinity ward excells in creating a great atmosphere in their game, something they have specialized themselves in even when most of them were still working at EA making the excellent first Medal of honor games. Geurilla is very good at creating an atmosphere, but don't posses the level that IW has yet. Then again, they have been around way shorter so Geurilla's future looks even more promising.

On the bright side, most 360 owners never played KZ2, and PC gamers arrogantly laugh at the graphics of consoles anyway.

I doubt it'll disappoint. Sure, it's not going to look as absolutely graphically polished, but no CoD title has ever done so. Both on PC and console better looking engines have always been around compared to CoD titles.

But that's missing the point I think. CoD engine is designed around their gameplay, which is about set-pieces and combat mechanics and a sense of immersion without getting too realistic. Sure, it might seem odd that if you look past the particle effects most stuff is nailed down, levels have invisible walls, etc. but I doubt the majority will care so long as the gameplay is sweet.

One thing I will say though, it does annoy me when reviews slam other good titles for invisible walls, etc. but give CoD a pass due to its popularity - but that's not IW now CoD titles' fault, that oversight lies with the reviewers themselves and the poor maintenance of standards we've seen this gen for big known franchises vs newer IPs.

^^

and PC gamers arrogantly laugh at the graphics of consoles anyway - of course we do!  After all we're getting the same game in terms of gameplay, etc. with better graphics and M&K for aiming!  And if the SDK is released for PC owners we get masses of free levels and mods, too.

Although saying that I'll get it on console as I prefer a nice big couch and TV these days - plus I'm fed up buying two copies of big titles, one for me on PC and one for my son on console.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Mouses are great for aiming. Keyboards however suck penises, they are the worst imaginary type of control ever. I love my PC, but a keyboard is meant for typing, not for gaming. I have grown accustomed to using it over the years, just like someone could grow accustomed to having a pole shoved up their ass (I imagine).

I do admit that I have grown fond of playing games on console though. Playing GT5 proloque online on a couch is ace.

it's the gameplay, the online is much more thrilling than that of Killzone 2, you can bet on that.

While I do agree COD online is better, KZ's was excellent too. COD needs a KZ clan system, it was fanastic!

CoD has a party system so you can play with friends KZ doesnt...

Graphically, it will not be at the same level as KZ2.....obviously. Quality wise, it is tough to say this early on, however, I enjoyed the original COD MW much more than KZ2, so I am confident that MW2 will probably be similar to its predecessor (IMO).

CODs party system doesn't let me join sometimes, and you could easily play with friends in KZ2, heck I think they brought a party system in by a recent patch

I'm getting it on PC so the graphics will probably be on par with Killzone 2 at the very least.
