For me, most games are not worth $50. The only games I pay that much for are the big Nintendo games. I think that is because I know they are quality games and they are not going to drop in price. For other games I'm interested in, $30-40 is a good price range. For $20 or less, I'll take a chance on something I don't know much about.

No, considering most games now are shorter than they had been last gen. I'd say the only games that are worth it are open-ended sandbox games (GTA, inFamous) or RPGs. Everything else has a terrible price:length ratio.

apparently games are worth 112.76 (for the more expensive standalones) in aus, so in us, stop your whining, our ecomonies are quite similar yet we get slammed in the price stakes, normal price enter is 99.76, shovel ware (some wii games, harry potter etc etc) enter at around 49.76... THAT IS SHOVEL WARE. The current economy is per 1 $AU will get you US $0.82c.

The bloody 80gb ps3 is $688 with one game, $688 w/o a game.
360 is $399 for pro 60gb.
Wii is $399

It is freaking awesome how you guys will complain over a 70 dollar for your more expensive games, i would kill for a 84 dollar price start for the more expensive ones, and that is how it should be.


The funny thing is there was a lot of criticism in the press (talking about major aus newspapers) about how Sony is ripping us off compared to everywhere else. Sony replied it is the retails. Yet if you go into the SONY store low and behold they have it for $699 w/o a game. NO the onus is on the game companies, but until then these threads for a $60 AUS priced game... GET OVER IT

some games are like fallout,gears,cod4. the majority i don't think are worth more than $50. sports games with little additions and a patch for last year no way. ill stay a year behind and pay $19 for them.

no if you ask me most games this gen arent worth 60$, and almost none of them are worth 100$, which is what i have to pay if i want to buy them at a retail store

Yes a lot are, and some arent. I fell $60 is a fair price for a AAA game.

Yeah i do, OP with the games price, and everyone who thinks the ps3 is expensive at 399. i kinda wished i ordered mine from america, would have been a lot cheaper

Yeah, I understand. It's times like these when I wonder if emulation/piracy is that bad. I mean, the guy wants to enjoy his favorite hobby, but he gets screwed over by stupid currency and stuff. :/
