I don't think this is panic worhty... The few exclusives still coming out are solid, and I think better than the ones already released. The only reason this seems so bad is all of you knuckleheads that spent Jan-May raving about how 360 was "never going to get another game, there are no 360 exclusives, you are all going to be crying while we play all our great games...", and now you're down to a more reasonable 5 games for the whole year, and M$ has something like 10 for the holidays, and suddenly it's time to panic?

Relax... Jan-May of next year will see the release of many of the games you were all bragging about, more will be announced, Halo: ODST will be 'so last year', and then you will have to put your blinders on at E-3 through Christmas as 360's big titles are announced and hit again. It's the cycle of this generation...

Jan-May: PS3 has a MILLION new games, due out by Q4 (unconfirmed release dates)!! 360 is doomed!!!
Jun-Dec: Only three of the PS3 games are coming out this year!! 360 announced 18 games at E3 (several won't be out until early next year)!! PS3 is doomed!!!
Jan-May: Those games we expected 3-4 months ago are out!!! Those 360 games are old!!! Some of the PS3 games still don't have a release date!! 360 is doomed!!!

And so on, and so on, and so on....

No but I do like and own all the games I mentioned...

Pretty much confirms GT 5 for this year then. Uncharted 2 is coming in Septmber, they need something big for November/December.

It's amazing how big of a franchise Modern Warfare/Call of Duty have become. Infinity Ward really did well with that one

So why suddenly exclude Flower. Oh yea then 360s lineup is good. Please just admit 360 has a good lineup that will be amazing by years end.

@Dark chaos : no, it's just it doesn't make sense to include small XBLA games. They just can't compete with games like Gears, MGS4 or GTA... It just doesn't make sense.

As full exclusive AAA games, 360 had nothing this year, PS3 had two games, there's nothing to spin here. Spinning is saying 'look, we released 1985 game Secret of the Monkey Island so it counts as one great game in 2009'.

Small games are small. DLC is not a new game.

In my opinion (and it's confirmed by Meta scores), 360 has a somewhat weak exclusive lineup in 2009, and PS3 exclusive lineup was hands down better (like in 2008).

The end of the year should be less weak for MS, then again they probably won't make a comeback in AAA exclusives since GT5 and uncharted 2 will be released too.

If we include Flower, we also have to include Comet Crash, and Fat Princess and Under Siege later in the year, and if we are including Monkey Island, surely we have to include Final Fantasy VII and Metal Gear Solid?

Every year it is the same damn thing. Members counting chickens before they hatch on a platform that is notorious for its delays. Stop the overselling of lineup until you get the release dates for the games. This is a classic blunder on these forums don't overstretch, and you will not have to do the back peddling.

I am personally sick of the hyping. How many times do PS3 owners need to fall face first into the pavement before they take the hint. Every time a game has the shit hyped out of it. We have the game collapse just out of the gates. I hate to burst bubbles, but GT5 is not going to have the sales some of you imagine. Perhaps around three million copies by the end of the year if it sells this year. That will not even put it in the top ten software titles. In fact it will probably lose to Forza.

Members keep thinking that the Sony of today and its fan base are the same as they were last generation, and that is simply not true. That is why the best games, and the best exclusives so often fall on deaf ears. There is absolutely no reason to expect otherwise. Want greatness, but do not expect a epic success. It just doesn't seem to happen for Sony.

Speaking to the 360 lineup this year it could be better, but it has some good range as far as the exclusives go. Microsoft is hitting all the bases. Not necessarily the best of each genre, but at the very least there is nothing being left out. You have games in most every genre. The third party losses this season do not even have a major impact on them. Basically they still have a few games in each major genre, and have a eclectic mix.
