Forums - Gaming - How to stop increasing development costs?

For who knows something about programing, there is a way to make next-gen have hardware improving and also graphical improving whitout raising the costs of development?

It's not programming costs that are rising, it's art costs, and the way to stop those costs from going up is to stop trying to make the best looking game possible.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

Make more Wii games!

Do Not Click here or else I will call on the eye of shining justice on you.

it's not going to happen.

Development costs are just going to get higher and higher. I can only imagine how bad it's going to be next gen.

do something like Insomniac, have 1 core team which work on the graphics engine but have 2 teams work on separate games which use that engine. That way when their is little down time for the programmers as their always refining the engine while the other guys go about doing the art, rather than have 2 programming team working on the same engine, what they ends up with is a game that has a 2 year production cycle but the company being able to release 2 games because they alternate the releases all while using the same engine but just more degined and upgraded as time goes on, very efficient.

Very simple... Wait for more publishers and developers to go bankrupt.

After the industry crashes, it will go back to more sane practices.

Done.

It's like pay for 1 and release 2. This could be really efficient actually!

Everyone make iPhone games!
