Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft responds to Obama's put away the Xbox comment

they should have said "We agree with President obama. Stop playing the Xbox and go buy a 360!"

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

He said Xbox because it is a favourite among teens, children, and americans.

Well, I agree, but what I said is also true.

When saying that, I think Obama had a picture in his head of an 8 year old boy addicted to Halo 3, thats failing his schoolwork and going to bed too late.

Obama brought a Wii into the Whitehouse. PS3 isn't too popular here so it only makes sense he would say "Xbox."

lol if only they had

"They will know heghan belongs to the helghast"

"England expects that everyman will do his duty"

"we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender"

No one threw a shoe at him for saying Xbox? :D

Hehe, Xbox is the standard console in this gen if it's being referred to by the President of USA.

I love playing video games, but I don't think there is anything wrong at all with what he said. I don't think he is necessarily advocating that kids should never play video games, but that it should be only one of many after school activities and that parents shouldn't let kids' afternoons be filled with them. It makes sense.

As for singling out Xbox, it is simply because it is popular. People should not read into it at all. Do you think the President actually spends any time playing games? He has no idea.
