Gordon Freeman is a good choice but I like to see a silent character...or else there is kind of nothing interesting.

I'll go with him:

He was a very neutral character and did the job quite well.

Dude. Silent protagonists are just shells. In my game of P3 i made sure to never level up skills and never train. Eventually i just couldnt get any further, and it was game over all the time. The main character SUCKED big time.

But that's the thing... you never see Freeman, he never speaks, yet he's a huge gaming icon in one of the most successful FPS ever.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

There are quite a few good choices, the most famous will be Link, but my personal is Ness, another good choice is Issac from Golden Sun, or Crono from Chrono trigger.

I guess for me it goes like this.
