Forums - Nintendo - Metroid Prime GC vs Wii

I found this neat video comparing Metroid Prime on GC and the NPC version. The difference is noticeable, with the Wii version haveing sharper detail and more colors. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxZULNIIpdE

Im not sure if the difference in graphics is due to the actual hardware the game is running on, or the video capture tech. Its interesting nonetheless.

Looks good. Not good enough to warrant repurchasing it on the Wii.

It does seem sharper and with better color, though that could be all the difference of video-capture technology. The question being, was this footage from both games made for this purpose?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

im torn on this one

Both vids are from IGN. The GC content was recorded some 7-8 years ago, im not sure. So it could very well be the capture device. I know that Retro added some new graphical effects like bloom lighting.

Maybe itll turn out like Okami. The PS2 was rather bland looking compared to the much more colorful Wii version.

I would assume that the Wii version is running on the Metroid Prime 3 engine which would provide some minor benefits without having to rework content ... Most of the clarity and draw distance improvements I would imagine come from the capture device though.

Yeah, we need a proper shot-for-shot comparison to be sure.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I'll still buy the trilogy set whenever that comes out
