At this rate the Wii will never reach 50%. Last spring it was practically a given that it would by the end of 2008 and certainly within the 1st quarter of 09 according to all manner of fancy graphs and predictions by many members.
The OP clearly shows that this gen simply cannot be predicted through conventional means, there are so many variables this time around.
But it is very exciting to see it pan out though.
Your charts always break into your signature, how is that possible!!
As always very interesting.
Hey Kowenicki could you do one for the financial year rather than the calendar year? Its for that crazzzzy 13M projection that Sony pulled out, I was wondering how close to or how far off they were from it. It may be best to wait until their quarterly numbers are in, incase they revise their projections or we have adjustments incoming.
Tease.
The wii is fine. The 360 is the one that needs to expand.

even though wii is down from last year, i trust nintendo to bring new tech and games so they'l be fine. but im just a bit worried about Sony. and of course MS is doing great as always.

Actually every week where its market share is under 50% that target moves further away. With the Wiis sales down year over year, unless they somehow revitalise towards the end of the year it will become nothing more than a pipedream for the Wii to ever get more than 50% market share.
Not only that, but the numbers that western publishers mainly look at are the western sales numbers as they usually do poorly in Japan. Under those circumstances the Wii has sold 41M the Xbox 360 30M and the PS3 19M and the market share is vastly different to what it is on the front page of the site.
Tease.
