I don't remember why I found out I could stand on him while riding, but it's awesome because you can then jump off of him.  I don't remember any time that ability was necessary, but it was still fun to do for giggles.

You can actually jump off of him without standing, which is good because it's necessary in at least one fight.

Is that the second fight? Because I couldn't climb the damn thing. I tried Jumping of Agro to see if I could then latch on a higher place but I kept missing...

No, it's further along. Actually, I found it useful in two fights, but I guess in one of them you can do it alone. The other one though, it's indispensable

Many enemies have more than one weak spot. Be sure to check where all of the enemy's are.
