wierd how the xbox core has wired controllers, has no bundled wifi at any price level, no hdmi, no hard drive and with backwards compatiblity well under 50%.

sony is selling an hdmi/wi-fi core model that dosen't play ps2 games. it does play PS1 games.

does anyone's wii play n64 games?

i am inclined to say this is a non-issue for the majority of people who buy video game consoles. as in the people who don't visit sites like this.

This will most likely happen world wide. And I'm also sure that recent PS3 owners with their future updates can kiss their BC farewell as well.

The thing is darth a lot of people like old games, currently these people arent PS3 gamers (due to the price, only people who worship graphics have really bought the PS3 so far). As Sony drops the price they will get into demographics of people who do care about old games and BC and thus dropping BC from their lower end console means that they will miss at least a segment of the people willing to buy the console at that price.

On June the 1st (4 months ago I think) 4.7M virtual console titles had been downloaded for the Wii, that shows how much at least certain segments of gamers care about old games, that not all gamers think that the only games worth playing are ones released this gen.

I do hope to get Haze. But it doesn't mean I'll not play my older games anymore. I have Halo 3 now. That doesn't stop me from ever playing TimeSplitters. Just because Haze is made by the same people (which I didn't know, that's awesome) doesn't mean I won't play TS. The TS games are great

Well, I do have them on carts as well, but they don't work on the Wii of course.
