I've never experianced that in Halo but I have a lot in Halo 2.

Halo 3, Halo 2, Halo 1.

Multiplayer all the way. I play the SP once and rarely again.

Full coop campaigns to play through with friends on all 3 games, that's the main fun I had with them. Online is a blast if twitch shooters are your thing too.

Halo isn't much a twitch based FPS since it's on the consoles.

Halo: Combat Evolved- Fun single player, nice multiplayer
Halo 2- Shit single player, nice multiplayer
Halo 3- TBD

Errr yes it is, I guess you haven't played many FPS games over the years to understand what a twitch game is then.
