Well, I'm buying a Slim PS2 so that I can mod it. It looks pretty easy and cheap.

Oh shit I hated those Dark Aeons!
I missed the Language Book in Besaid which was stopping me getting the reward which would allow powerleveling (99 Dark Matter I believe).
Everytime I tried to go back I encountered Dark Valefor who instawiped my party.
Almost started a new game before I remember Yojimbos Zanmato.
Good times.

I only modded my PS2 after i got my BC Ps3 too, I was missing out on many NA only RPG's, and some RPG which were really rare in PAL regions. @weaverworld Loool, nahh, I just remember the RPG's I like the most, or the ones i've given more play time. This helped me a lot when a friend of mine got stuck in the puzzle of the Ice Rod temple, I managed to do it for him in about 5 minutes, but when I played through the game in my first playthrough, I was stuck there for almost 2 hours. That is the most insane Ice Sliding Platform puzzle i've ever seen in a game xD Then again, Alundra had some of the most insane puzzles ever :P |
Well, you make it sound like it comes natural... Very glad it took you that amount of time, it was indeed a freaking nasty puzzle, i guess i've been sliding up and down for several hours.
Alundra is still on my to do list... Have gotten my hands on a very nice collection of ps1 rpg's and still need to play some of them.
Actually. i bought an American PS2 to be able to play all NA only rpg's and finally get rid of my half ass modded ps1's.
@Tallgeese101
Did you use the half your total gil +1 zanmato exploit? That was the easiest almost 100% way for zanmato to be used by Yojimbo.
@weaveworld
When I bought Alundra I was finishing playing OoT. I was trying to finish the Water Palace, and was thinking to myself that it had fiendish puzzles (that was before trying OoT Master Quest), and then I went to play Alundra...that helped me a lot in finishing OoT :P
I had two PS1, a NTSC one and a PAL one, because at that time I was living in two different countries, so that helped me play a lot of RPG's xD

How cheap are we talking about if we don't consider the price of the Slim PS2?

I had it the same way. I forgot to get Valefors second overdrive, but then remembered Yojimbo. Btw what's that book you're mentioning?

$40 if you have your own screwdriver.
International version = PAL and NA version. Just with a better boxart! same features.
Outlaw, how are you gonna mod your PS2?

It's not equal to the NA version since the NA version doesn't have the dark aeons quest.

NA doesn't? for real? PAL does...
Most FF's are equal between NA and PAL regions...
