We need video referees. Every other sport has them.

It would straight up ruin the game. Soccer is about having play that flows well. Instant replay ruins that. Hell it slows down games like baseball and they are already slow as hell. Video referees are shit. It is part of the game.

Do it like the guys in the NFL. If there's a close call, or some rather obvious mistake by the referee the team manager/trainer can challenge it - If it's clear that the ref was wrong the challenge goes through, if not you lose the chance to put a player in.

Stupid referee, the handball in the 2nd goal, the awful fouls IC players did to Elano and Bastos, and Kaká shouldnt have been sent away.

Anyway, southamerican teams are the best performers up until now 7 wins and 2 draws, no looses, taking away a spot for a world cup would be a very stupid thing to do by FIFA.

It hasn't slowed down Rugby League in fact it can add to the tension. But it all comes down to how its implimented.

And stop the game for like 3 minutes. Fuck that. There are no time outs in soccer, and there shouldn't be. Challenges implemented after the game for tournaments are fine in my book, but nothing that would make the game as boring as other sports. This coming from a fan of USA who was robbed of a win just over a day ago.

@Lordflashheart
How could they possibly implement it without stopping play? The referee has to watch the tape, and that means play can't resume.  Soccer is a game of little or no downtime. Anything that takes away from that has no place in the game.

NFL is one of the most boring games BECAUSE of all the stops. I swear I can go take a crap and sometimes there would have been no change in the game whatsoever. Keep those slow paced BS mechanics out of soccer. This is coming form a person who is from a country that was denied a chance at the Cup because of a refree not seeing a handball by a defender.

Ofcourse the forth official can recall the decision of the ref. The ref doesn't have to leave the field. Maybe give each team 2 'challenges' per half.

It is really needed to implement some 'new' devices like that. The game has gotten much faster and the naked eye is having more trouble seeing things. Also, there should be a camera on the goalline to see whether the ball has passed the line. It is ridiculous to leave that up to a man standing 25 mtrs away from the actual goal.
