The USA still has a shot at first in their group if they beat Algeria and Slovenia and England tie, right?

They do but England is going to blow up. They are too good and have played too poorly not to explode.

I find fault with that logic. Maybe they'll play poorly again, because they're not such a great team after all. Rooney can't keep possession worth a damn, Lampard and Gerrard can't cooperate, Carragher is far too slow to keep up with speedy forwards...the list of problems goes on and on. This England team is worse than the sum of its parts.

England are a great team, look at how they qualified.

They just have no belief, and 4-4-2 is looking outdated in the tournament.

It would all be so different if Rob Green had not made that mistake imo.

Their defence looks shaky at times and they are playing under a lot of pressure... Other than that, I agree. They are solid. The Algerians aren't as bad as everyone else says they are. I mean their offence is hopeless but they are a strong defencive team.

US may be able to light them up for a few...but they seems to have their own issues with defence.

This is Capello's fault.

That 4-4-2 is so shit. Gerrard on the left? FUCKING HESKEY? Why the fuck did he bring crouch and wright-Phillips on instead of JOE COLE our most creative player? Sack Capello, put me in charge, play 4-3-3

--- Johnson --- Dawson --- Terry --- Cole--

-----Gerrard --- Barry --- Lampard---------

  --Lennon--------------------------------Cole---

----------------------Rooney----------------------

Barry holding, Gerrard and Lampard box to box, Lennon and Cole on the wings Rooney upfront. Simple.

I guess FIFA taking a South Amrica place for the world cup now seems very stupid considering that Ecuador and Colombia are superior to most of the teams in this competition. I hope they dont do it.
