The Ireland team was very overrated... Look at it, they only beat cyprus and Georgia but drew agaisnt the rest, including a second string italy side.

Yeah, I'm getting behind Ireland on this one too. Less competition for the world cup lol.

Plus it'd really stick it to Fifa.

2 or 3 upsets would really show them.

I don't know what's up with Fifa.  They keep changing rules mid tournament.

Like what's up wht the Egypt V Algeria change.

I mean, the way the tiebreak would be decided is stupid... but it's the tiebreak that was in the rules.

There should be NO playoff.

ERR how would they decide which team goes through without a playoff?

Real Salt Lake and LA Galaxy will now compete for the 2009 MLS Cup, but i'm sure no one cares lmao.

Shame my hometown team Toronto FC couldn't make it though.

I can't believe Nigeria lost to Switzerland. They had so many chances to score.

Yes, in the U 17 WC, it ended like this: 1)Switzerland(First title I think, they got to the final in the Olympic games but lost to Uruguay then)

                                                              2) Nigeria 3)Spain 4)Colombia

I swear the African nations always do well in youth cups, but what happens when they mature?

I once heard that its because the ones that play U 17 and U 20 WC are actually much older because they get inscribed(dont know the right word) when they are like 4 or 5 years old so they actually have 20 something when they play in U-17, but it could be that they just develop earlier and that is just mith.

Anyway, I remember 2007 U-20 WC that we played with Nigeria, we won 4-0 (but in the extra time we scored the 4 goals), the fist 90 minutes it looked like the Nigerian team were machines and they were much bigger and stronger than our players.

Displinary record.

That is the "next" in line when all the categories match up.

The team that was carded less makes it to the world cup.

My money is on Salt Lake... they have a more complete team.

I was rooting for Toronto FC as well. :(

Well then, now we know that playoffs are the better choice. :)
