Even if the linesman checked the replay, the ref would still have to take a look at it and discuss it with his assistant which would take 5 minutes.

I love football.

But isn't the 5 minutes more worth it? It will decrease the amount of players diving and ensure that the ref makes the right decision.

Ok, if there was a video replay what would they have done? Would they have given the blatant peno in the first half? Or would they have just stopped the pen in the second. Keep it a human sport, just add in a camera on the line for goal line clerances etc.

Don't want it to get like Rugby League where games can get stopped for up to 10mins deciding on a try. Some penalties for Liverpool last season you could debate for months and not come to a correct decision...

but diving is a dark art.....

i used to think for penalties and stuff.....but i think the ref should just decide what he thinks.....its fun to leave him incharge....

That would be ideal.

But for example, look at the Zidane headbutt incident. The ref never saw it, but was informed by his assistant. Also, the linesman should be more alert to fouls the ref cannot see. For example, the Chelsea Utd game where Brown was clearly fould by Drogba in the box causing the goal.

It would be worth it, but a fifth official, or a little help from a linesman could do the same things a goal line camera would do.

Ye I somewhat agree with all of your points, but I'm sure they could work out the flaws of the video replay system.

Lets hope that the Europa league project is successful, extra refs ...

I just want something to be done!

I know how you feel when games get robberd because of poor reffing.

My team got relegated from the highest division in my pronvice because of poor reffing. The other team scored from a fucking thrown in! which is obviously illegal.

This is the dive, for ppl who haven't seen it yet.

Liverpool are a disgrace. Ngog clear dive. Gerrard is the biggest diver in the EPL.

At least there is contact when Drogba goes down. I can't remember the last time a Chelsea player dived (no contact)... Lampard in the FA Cup final doesn't count because that was actually a penalty.

yes it is terrible when you see with the evidence........

maybe you changed my mind........

i do think the ref needs help and have done for a while because the game is faster and people are fitter no matter what people might say....

people have alwasy dived though, but back then the defender could get his own back without being sent off, with a crunching tackle....

i guess you'd have to have a tv ref up on the stands,or a challenge system, but then where does it all end.......

i believe fifa say they want the same rules for everyone and not just the big televised leagues, which is why they haven't brought it in,the debate goes on.......

maybe they should just ban ngog or whoever afterwards for 5 matches....retrospectively......if you commit the crime you do the time...
