Forums - Gaming - Will PSP pass 100 million before it's discountinued?

with the PSP go,and many many new games(like never before in PSP history) and the new PSP APP store,do you think that it would be likely that psp could sell above 100 million units in the next ,,i don't know,,3 years?

I think it will get close to 85 million and then PSP 2 will come out.

So let's here your prediction. If your ansewr is not ,what number is more reasonable ?

p.s.Sony announced in feburary that PSP has passed 50 million units.so by now it shoukld be around 55 million units shipped.

Its a possibility with the increase of amazing games coming and the new PSP Go could attract alot of buyers. Im going to guess in hopes of 103 million units sold by the end of its life (wishful thinking)

However, if rumors are true about the PSP2 then that might hurt the current PSP's sale. And there's something that seems to be missing that Sony just cant grasp the handheld market like Nintendo can. But Nintendo's been in the handheld market for years so they're experts but im proud of Sony's first attempt into the handheld market.

Nope, the PSP Go will be the death of the PSP. A huge library of UMD games are now useless and the masses don't want to buy games via digital distribution.

No freakin' way. Do you know how tough it is to reach the 100 million mark? Few consoles have done it, and those that did are legends. Pinnacles of the industry. Even the Gameboy Advance didn't reach 100 million, and that console was almost as big as the PS2 in America and Japan.

No. Not even close.

Their idea to compete with Nintendo is to release an even more expensive version of their handheld that doesn't play UMD games. In short, no, not even remotely close.

so give us a number guys

It won't pass 60 million.

Considering its games coming up, YES.

Considering the Price of the PSP Go, NO

If the PSP Go has a £75 price cut to £175 then it could do it.

It will sell a little less that the Original GB/GBC I think

I LOVE ICELAND!
