the wii is 250$ and 360 169-199 $
and both you end up with a expensive DVD.
fix your ps3, you already bought many games for it right?
u may also find a place to fix it for cheaper.

I'd pay Mr. Sony. Don't want to miss out on the upcoming games.
Just buy another PS3 and stop your mewling.

Speak to you local trading standards or citizens advice bureau in regards to the sale of goods act. When you buy an item you expect it to be usable for a reasonable length of time, which for a high end item like a PS3(as opposed to a $10 hair dryer for instance) would be a couple of years minimum. You have a 2 year guarantee on electrical goods(well, its actually 6, but the consumer needs to prove its a manufacturer fault). Don't pay for a replacement just yet.
If I were you I'd get if fixed. You have quite a few games. I know I'd get mine fixed again if it broke again on me... I have way to many PS3 games. But my warranty's still good for another few months

$150 is cheaper than getting an Arcade/Wii+Bluray. It really really sucks that you have to pay when a company makes a product that breaks after regular use for only a few years. But you should do stuff your own interest. Although you might feel a bit of satisfaction of not paying Sony and helping the competition, but in the end, with the games you own, the fact that buying a system and bluray is more expensive than $150 (along with replacing all the games you bought), it's more in your interest to just pay 150.
