Jeez that's stupid. Perhaps some different modus will come for the map in due time. But I also recall how it used to be, with the enemy team being half on the enemy carrier wreaking havoc making the actual fun airplane battles impossible. (There's always be an ass with a bazooka on the end of the runway.)

I sucked at dogfighting too when I didn't get a Zero or SBD. My tip would be what I always did when I got an Aichival or F4U - Take off, and immidiatly fly as high as possible. Usually fighters don't spot you high up. Then start bombing the airplane-spawn site like mad just making the same dive and climbing fast before anyone notices.

Or come in really low and MG the AA gunners on deck. That was always fun. I also used to wingclip everyone by flying low over the deck and ended it by crashing into the spawned airplanes with a few bombs (works best with SBD/Airchi)

Are you sure the boats are there in Air Superiority mode? I can't find them for the life of me.

Haven't played the Air Superiority mode, but I know at Iwo Jima, the landing craft are there on both ships. I hopped into them and drove ashore.

Just walk to the guns on the aft of the ship and turn around and walk along the edge of it. You will see a B and ask you if you want to get in. That's the landing craft. You lower yourself to the water and baam - you're good to go.

I am really ashamed...I was ranked quite high at Ace combat 6 and some people praised me for my skills. Now at my first try with this mode I start the engine and fall in the water XD.

And uhm their are no boats :s..


And oh yeah I am wondering aswell where to shoot. ... If a airplane is moving to the left should I move the cursor just a few meters for his nose or put the cursor on the plane;.

@madskillz: Oh. Yeah, I'm aware of those boats. They're gone on the Coral Sea map, though.

Walk it in front of the plane. You'll get more hits because the plane will run right into it. ACM 101.

Aim in front of it. Ideally, aim for the motor right behind the rotor and before the cockpit. A plane tends to go down with just a few shots in the engine.

If Dice didn't change it, the same works for the tanks - aim for the back. In BF1942 it was quite reasonable for a tank to be destroyed by one  in shell in the lower rear, two shells in the side/upper-back and I believe 4-5 on the hull/front.

I hope that Dice will include either eastern Europe or North-Afrika as theatres next. El Alamein, Kharkov, Gazala, Kursk, Battleaxe, Stalingrad, Tobruk and Berlin always resulted in heavy and balanced fighting.

Man, I played this map today. I bailed out and it said I committed suicide. Dang! However, there are no boats - as it is a dogfight map. The purpose is to keep the flag for the longest. I tell you what drives me nuts - folks who will blow up their team airplanes. They really should be penalized for that. Also, the ones who shoot their players. That can be very, very confusing.

I definitely enjoy the new map. Does anyone have word on when other maps are coming?
