Forums - Sony - Bioware takes the defense of the PS3

Greg Zeschuk, co-founder of BioWare, has branded Activision's comments over ceasing support for PS3 "silly", acknowledging the importance of the PlayStation name.

"I don't think it's really fair to poke fun at Sony," Zeschuk told CVG. "Certainly the Wii's been a massive success and Sony's probably not going as fast as they thought it would be but I think that they're starting to make the right moves and the software's coming along.

"I think it's silly to be saying you're not going to support Sony. The brand itself is still huge and there are millions of [users] out there."

no really, ones possible, the other isn't. and mass effect isn't on the same level as MGS4.

its a game that should come over to PS3. Its an excellent game and also must be extremely expensive to produce. Unfortunately it also is a game with more of a niche audience and there is no better way then to expand the audience by releasing multi-platform.

There is such a thing as reading too much into comments. Having an opinion does not translate to having a vested interest. People in an industry shockingly enough comment on what is happening in a industry. More to the point if their were an agenda it has far more to do with Activision then it has to do with Sony. Third parties jockey and vie for dominance as much as the console makers do themselves. The notion that one can dictate to the industry as a whole must be disconcerting.

Anyway don't let your lust and imagination run away with you. Bioware doesn't have Cell versed staff. Nor are they hiring one. Nor are Electronic Arts as far as I know. So to see a port begs the simple question how especially since Bioware uses its own proprietary engines. I was actually shocked when they licensed the Hero engine for their new massive title. So you would need a dedicated staff to make that shit happen.
