Forums - Sony - Should Sony stop DLC support for LittleBigPlanet?

WTF. This is the dumbest article ever. I want a minute of my life back

Not listening to a site with 'anal' in their name.

Let me show you why they call me the velour fog. Hit it.

I met her in a club down in old Soho,

Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like coca cola,

C-o-l-a, cola.

She, walked up to me and she asked me to dance,

I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said;

Leela, L-e-e-l-a, Leela, Lee, Lee, Lee, Leela

Leeeeeeeelaaaaaaaa

I have spent more on DLC than the game itself. I doubt I am alone. So the answer is a clear no as they are making a killing.

The profit margin on LBP if you factor in the relatively small development team and the DLC must be massive. I suspect its made more money than a fair number of games with higher volume sales.

With LBP for PSP coming up plus the re-release, now doesn't seem a good time to stop the DLC either, even ignoring the fact it makes massive commercial sense to keep up with the DLC.

This is one of the poorest arguments I've seen. The game has a massive, active online community still churning out levels, etc. and buying the DLC in question - why would you mess with that?

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

What are they thinking?

Well the game cost about $5m to make according to the game director, so they definitely made their money back very quickly, and I guess the MGS levels must have made quite a lot of money too

This article better not be freaking serious. We're talking about Little Big Planet here, a game that against all odds, reached universal acclaim and was chosen by the mass media as game of the year. This was over such heavy hitters like MGS4 (my personal GOTL), Gears 2, GTAIV, Fallout 3. The game is a fucking masterpiece, and any/every bit of DLC that is put into it makes it even better.

Sony, you are a fucking bitch if you do this.

Maybe I misread the article. It sounds like it is saying that DLC is good for LBP, but the article asks if it should be discontinued. HUH?

Yes, Sony should stop making money of LBP

Indeed.  Every LBP player I've meet online seems to have both MGS plus a fair bit of DLC.  Many like me have kids who want almost every new costume pack - that soon adds up I can tell you.
