Alright, right now everyone is hyping up WiiSportsResort or hyping up WiiSports (For example the thread about WiiSports outselling the Wii itself). Everyone saying WSR will sell as well as WiiFit and MarioKart. It's radiculous the hype that WSR is getting among the Nintendo elite who usually save their support for bigger first party titles!
Am I the only one who see's the WiiSports series as glorified tech demo's?
It is. Not many can debate that. It was only there to illustrate the strengths of the console.
Am I the only one who doesn't even have his copy of WiiSports anymore? (Probubly went into the garbage ages ago)
I got my Wii used, so I never had a copy of Wii Sports, still don't.
Am I the only one who thinks if WSR outsells MarioKart/Brawl and WiiFit that game quality as we know it will diminish?
Well, Wii Fit outselling almost every other game this generation hasn't changed much, so I doubt WSR would either. The presence of WSR in the market is too well known to inspre change. What it is supposed to do has already been done, but WSR is just an upgrade of that.
Am I alone in wanting to see titles like the Conduit outsell games like WiiSportsResort?
The Conduit has nor the budget nor the appeal that WSR has (or the talent). The game was OK, not great, but OK. However, The Conduit is doing well and has sold 155k after 2 weeks in America. It should sell 700k+ in America alone and do fairly well in Europe, eventually bringing it over 1 million. The sales so far already ensure a much better sequel and HVS' hard work has paid off.
Am I the only one buying RedSteel 2 for the WM+ and not getting WSR for it?
I may get RedSteel 2 as well, but because it is the premiere action game that utilizes WiiMotionPlus. WSR isn't exactly my type of thing.
Am I the only Nintendo fan who thinks Nintendo is diluting their quality by making games like WiiPlay/WSR/WiiMusic?
The dilution in quality is really just the result of further branching out to reach a wider audience. The games are easier so it seems like the quality is lessened, but there really is genious within it. Otherwise, they wouldn't have sold so much. Carnival Games may be an exception, but lets not get into that.
Or am I just the crazy fanboy wishing for a new Pikmin , Donkey Kong or StarFox over yet another glorified tech demo?
I'm dying for a new Star Fox after reliving the awesome experience of the one-liner legend known as Star Fox 64. We do have more new Mario games than I would like, but Nintendo needs these Mario games to revitalize the Wii and stuff. It really is for our benefit in the long run, but I wish other Ninty franchises would appear sooner.
