Few hours ago I was in the mood to play The Conduit online, so I start up the Wii and get welcomed by a message that said something about the system files being corrupted and to look at the manual for further instructions. I reboot the system, and all was well. Went ont to play for an hour or so online with no problems. Never saw this type of message. Only problems I had over the years with the Wii was it locked up 2-3 times forcing me to unplug it since the power button would respond, and once in a blue moon the disc channel won't read the game disc in the slot, the most recent time was just shy of a week ago when The Conduit wasn't be read.

So, with this message of the system files being corrupted, was it just a lame fluke or is my Wii about to join the great beyond? Anyone run into this situation, and if so, how did it end?

I think it's more of a problem with the disc, than the game console. I started having SSBB problems earlier this year, but it was only with that game.

If the disc is scratched just rent and replace it.

Are your game saves still, er, safe? If so, you probably don't have anything to worry about.
