I don't know, while true, the problem is... the games age demographic remains constant, but the interested parties grow.

Sure the new pokemon are qualitatively better than the older ones, it's almost more like a patch was released for the older versions. So this game for 10 year olds might be even better than the one we had when we were 10, but those of us who were 10 back then are looking for a game that's seen more change.
