conduit didn't bomb stop being a hater

It was outsold this week by Mario Kart Wii and that game's over a year old.

Add that to my list of reasons why the Conduit bombed.

Does that mean it is dead meat. No? Quit being a hater. Mario Kart has strong legs and is much more well known than the Conduit. It didn't bomb. Do me a favor and wait and see how well it sales later. Also quit comparing the conduit with big FPS games that are much more well known than the conduit

Strong legs?  Mario Kart's outselling the Conduit and it's been out for a year.  How can a game that's being outsold by a game that's been out for over a year possibly be considered a hit?  Why shouldn't I compare the Conduit with other shooters?  What should I compare it to?  RPG's?  Point and click adventures?  Sports franchises?  What should I compare it to?

Hello?  Its the Wii!  The only thing any game should be compared to on the Wii are mini-game collections!

You might be on to something and the Conduit might not be that much of a bomb.

I looked up the sales of all three Rayman Raving Rabbids games and Mario Party 8 and compared them.

These are the totals for the Conduit and the three RRR games for their first two weeks;

The Conduit  160K

Rayman Raving Rabbids 102 K

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 151 K

Rayman Raving Rabbid TV Party 179 K

Mario Party 8 948 K

So the Conduit is performing better than the fairly sucessful Rabbid franchise did in it's first two outings.  This bodes well for the Conduit and the possibility for some sequels.  Mario Party 8, on the other hand, is an unstoppable beast.

No, No, No.. The Conduit was SUPER hyped.  Remember this was supposed to be better than Halo 3, Gears 2, Killzone 2, and CoD 4 combined!

It is only fair to only compare The Conduit to mini-game collections and fitness games that sold WELL in their first two weeks in the US like:

Wii Sports 705k

Wii Play 300k

Wii Fit 835k

Mario Party 8 475k

EA Sports Active 376k

Since The Conduit was supposed to be Nintendo's showpiece title for 2009, if it can't outsell these games, it is a total Bomb.

why dont you compare it to some Wii FPS games and see where it will land. Like CODWaW and Red Steel. Both of those games sold well over a million, and if The Conduit sells a million I think HVS and Sega will be pleased.

Ask and you shall receive.

In a two week period it has outsold Call of Duty: World At War by 48K and been outsold by Red Steel by 19K.

Call Of Duty's sales pattern is odd though in the sense that sales increased in each of it's first six weeks, presumably because COD is a huge franchise.  After a dip in week two of the Conduit's sales I don't see it matching Call Of Duty.  It may come close to the type of sales that Red Steel has which are no where close to Halo 3's.  :p

I think they would've got better sales if they had used a better name, like the Can-do-it, just to show they are serious.

These are only American numbers, aren't they?  I know that they are for Mario Party 8.

If you look at the big picture (worldwide), as I said before, you'll realize how big of a bomb this game really is.

Oh wow! Now that is a good idea!

Also, the game's theme and art style could have used some work. Perhaps instead of a Secret Service Agent with a shiny metal ball called the "All Seeing Eye" that uncovers secret messages, High Voltage should have considered a Young Pirate with a toy monkey that turns animals into useful objects when he shakes it!

HVS should really get on the ball, if they would have used even half of these amazing ideas, the Conduit wouldn't have bombed...

Yeah I thought that if I compared The Conduit to US only it might stand a chance of eeking it out and not bombing...
