Forums - Gaming - Could the conduit still outsell killzone 2?

The only KZ2 bundles sold to date are the UK bundles. Maybe someone from the UK could clarify, but my guess would be that every single PS3 sold since the KZ2 debut did NOT come with a free copy of the game.

The Best Buy NA bundles are exclusive to Best Buy with no word as to how long they'll be offered for.

So far, we don't even have a single week of tracked sales for the MGS4/KZ2 bundles, but next week's jump in sales for both titles will give a clear indicator as to exactly how many bundles (and soft units) were actually moved.

So... with bundles, no; Conduit will not be outselling KZ2.

Without bundles, no; Conduit will not be outselling KZ2.

Going back to the OP, no; Conduit will not be outselling KZ2.

No I don't see it happening, not impossible though

I believe The Conduit will sell well with legs, but I don't think it will outsell KZ2.

It is a new IP afterall.

I game.  You game.  We game.

I'm a videogamer, not a fanboy, but have a special place for Nintendo.

A while back I made a thread about the conduit. I said that it would outsell killzone 2, and everybody scoffed at me.

But The Conduit has exceeded the expectations of many wii fans and has sold over 100,000 first week (including non existant others sales)

and it seems to have good legs in america with only a 33% drop. If sales in japan and others are good, the total first week could be 150,000+. I believe the conduit can easily outsell killzone 2, given the competition (MW2 not for the wii!), and the wii fanbase.

What do you think about this?

When do you figure the Conduit's LIFETIME sales will exceed what KZ2 did on the PS3 in its first week?  I believe it pushed over 700,000 in its first week.

I can see strong legs for the game, especially as it garners more acknolegment from the casual crowd (by that I mean ppl who dont allways check what games are coming out) once it comes down in price, and word of mouth spreads, I think it WILL outsell KZ2 as the fps genre is cluttered on the ps3, whereas if a wii owner wants one, I believe there is no better option. lets wait and see

It definitely could, but I don't think it will. It's not as unrealistic as a lot of people seem to think, though.

OP: No, I don't think it will, despite the massive advantage in installed base, the PS3 owners are a typical FPS audience but it seems that the Wii's installed base doesn't have an equal share of them (opening sales should imply as much).
Of course, it could be argued that HVS are nobodies and its a new IP, but the first KZ was also made by nobodies and its still a fresh IP (to top that off, the first KZ was mediocre and everyone knew it, which hardly helped the image, god knows it was brought up enough times in here...).
Halo was also a new IP when it launched, but the sales were... massive. On a very small installed base.
The Conduit simply doesn't have that kind of appeal.
If it said Nintendo below developer, perhaps, but not in its current state.
