Forums - Gaming - Could the conduit still outsell killzone 2?

If the Conduit breaks 700,000 units it could be more profitable than KZ2, thats what matters at the end of the day. KZ2 had a budget of over $21M, Conduit could be between 7 to 9 mill, With 700k HVS could have a greater profit per unit of the Conduit than the guys who did KZ2 did.

That is some very serious information but it doesw not answer the question the thread asks at all.

the difference is whether you want to admit it or not Killzone 2 is basically a system seller and Conduit isn't. Granted the PS3 hasn't actually been lifted that much from Killzone 2 its still worth noting that a high percentage of everyone who is currently buying a PS3 picks up either Killzone 2, MGS4, or Uncharted as their first titles. Whereas with the Wii its always Wii Play, and Mario Kart or Wii Fit.

No way (IMO), especially with that awesome MGS4/KZ2 bundle coming.

more than half of current KZ2 sales were from bundles so i doubt but i think it should hit 1.2mln lifetime and considering that it is a wii game with so little advertisment it's quite acomplishment.

That number is pulled out of thin air, and if you dont have anything to back up those " facts" then dont write it.

And my answer to the OP: No... I highly doubt it. With curent legs KZ will easily pass the 2 million mark, and later on with more bundles/priceuts/Platinum edition/ GH it has a chance to reach even 2.6-3 million.

Conduit has a chance to break the million mark if it will get some decent legs, tough even that might be a longshot...

So out of the about 2.3M PS3 sold since KZ2's launch, more than 850k would be KZ2 bundles? Where does that number come from?

No where, his pulling number out of his arse :)

It's plausible...

The number 1 factor as to why The Conduit WON'T outsell Killzone 2 is that it was, is, and will CONTINUE to be bundled. So even if the Conduit does a million or so it still won't be bundled, which is a disadvantage...

...And these are pretty good bundles too.

/end thread

The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

It isn't a realistic feat that The Conduit would surpass Killzone 2 in sales, all things considered. Brand awareness, bundles, advertising, Killzone 2 is already far ahead of The Conduit and will continue to sell. I just don't see it happening.

How technical is your game?

What the hell are you talking about?

so is everybody saying the conduit is going to outsell killzone 2 if we take out the bundles?
