Forums - Gaming - Could the conduit still outsell killzone 2?

It is possible but like Montana said just because it happened to one game doesn't set some sort of benchmark.

Lately legs for Wii games havn't been awesome, despite low FW sales, HOTD, MW. Right now there isn't enough data to predict from, if after 5 weeks its holding up well then maybe, it has to sell 15k alone per week to catch K2.

I don't think it can tbh.

No.

Firstly, the game isn't even releasing in Japan, so I would be shocked if it did massive numbers there. Secondly, FPS is bigger in NA than EU, so 100k in NA might be 30k or so in EU. KZ2 is at 1.73 million. World at War launched in the best holiday season the Wii has ever seen, plus it was from an acclaimed series, and it won't reach KZ2 numbers. The Conduit definitely won't.

Not all FPS.  Killzone sold better in Europe than in North America, and Killzone 2 is virtually tied in both regions.

Of course, the Killzone franchise seems to be quite an exception in this case, and it's success in Europe vs North America is an advantage (one of many) it holds over the Conduit.

The large majority of FPS. Especially on Wii. World at War sold a hell of a lot more in NA.

Saying FPS is bigger in NA than EU is absurb, unless you mean only on consoles.

Don't forget that this game is only releasing July 16th in Australia

So, first week sales in others will change, so don't be too dissapointed if it's really low :)
Even though this wont sell much there, but still it's something :)

Whats KZ2 at? Hasn't it broken a million easily? TC won't pass it.

killzone 2 1.7 million, 700k first week

the conduit .16 million, over 100k first week

carnival games over 3 million, 30k first week

it is entirely possible

Well when The Conduit is anything like Carnival Games, you call and tell me.

Just because one game had long legs doesn't mean another will. Isn't this basic reasoning?

Call of Duty World at War

60,000 first week, 1.2 million currently.

Is that better?

He's not saying the Conduit WILL have long legs, just that it MIGHT have long legs.  Just that there's a chance.

Look at the other first 10 weeks from COD: WAW wii... I doubt the conduit will be able to do that.

more than half of current KZ2 sales were from bundles so i doubt but i think it should hit 1.2mln lifetime and considering that it is a wii game with so little advertisment it's quite acomplishment.

The legs of the conduit will depend largely on word of mouth. Most shooters depend on that. It's user score on meta is 8.7, so it might get some good legs. It's off on a good start for a new ip, a somewhat unknown developer and even the time of the year.

Like most wrote, 5 weeks on, you should be able to see some legs or not.

There's always a chance, I guess the game here is guessing how big it is :)

Going by precedent, are there examples of games on Wii that showed great legs and that weren't:

a) part of a big-name franchise / sporting iconic mascots / tie-ins

b) explicitely aimed at the most casually buying "family fun" audience

I can think of de Blob, though maybe it had enough of an appeal for people from the (b) case.

So out of the about 2.3M PS3 sold since KZ2's launch, more than 850k would be KZ2 bundles? Where does that number come from?
