Forums - Nintendo - IGN Wii guys thanked in the Conduit's credits. Possible bias in review?

So do you agree that IGN's Nintendo team generally writes good reviews then? Bozon sometimes doesn't do the best job but I can't say anything bad about Matt C... Also, you have to keep in mind that the 86 for this game was probably meant to say that it is better than MoH:H2 which was overrated as well and probably should not have been much higher than a 75...

no i just agreed with the bolded part. i don't like IGN's Nintendo team, they have manipulated people through their reviews with lines such as "If you don't buy this game, say goodbye to hardcore games on the wii" and "third party developers are keeping an eye on the sales of this game"  They seem to have an agenda of their own. For reviews i check out Giant Bomb, Gametrailers, and 1 up.com. Thats what i think, if you like IGN its cool, i just don't like it when they use IGN as a source for being right.

No. They misspelled Cassmassinas (?) name, just like i think i did.

I do think an 8.6 is a bit too high, but i will also say that a 9.0 on Madworld was too high. People have different opinions right.

@Ari_Gold

I used to like the 1up show before they stopped making it but their reviews are many times ridiculously short and poorly written. Same goes for Giant Bomb IMO. I want a good 2-3 pages clearly explaining the score.  (unless it is Wiiware or something)  Gametrailers is great as I said, if you transcribed their videos you would probably get at least 2-3 pages per game.

I will agree that IGN does try to push certain games that they like (Zack & Wiki, MoH:H2, Boom Blox, etc.) but they are generally pretty good games so I can't complain too much. Also, there are representatives from game companies who admit that they look at the sales of certain games (Christopher Svenson from Capcom is pretty notorious for this) as indicators of what to furture games could be successful on Wii.

If anything, IGN caused HVS to concentrate on things that IGN wanted making for a lower review to those critics they didn't cater too. It all balances out...

Most people who bought the game think it deserves an 80-90. Personally I'm surprised there wasn't some 100s, as some magazines seem to give those out to less worth titles...

If IGN rate it a 95, then you might be able to claim bias. It's not like they gave it the highest rating. http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=64101 has it at 9.0/10 bringing it back into the green on metacritic.

I give this game a 70, tops.  Didn't really like it all that much.  Will probably trade it in as early as tomorrow and get something worthwhile like Grand Slam Tennis which is what I should have gotten in the first place instead of this overhyped game.

Keep this in mind when reading what I type...

I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.

The conduit tp me is aimed at the peoppe who never played a FPS game and you can see why its excluesive

yeah pretty much, i wrote this a week ago, this makes the ign review look unprofessional, and its too much of a coincidence that ign gave the conduit the highest rating....

Nope IGN has given the 3rd highest, worth playing has given the 2nd highest. Bigbag has given the highest, they gave it Grade S which is more than 9/10

what type of credibility do those sites have?

More then the two sites that gave it a 4/10 in my book.

Why? because you do not agree with their reviews? That is a awesome reason why not to like a reviewer.

On topic: So they gave it a review score before They finished the game? That is the only way I can see them being in the credits. So I willl agree with the people who said that they helped the get a publisher

Come on guys. Stop denying the truth. IGN has been bought.

Actually, IGN helped them get a publisher. A nice little thank you is the least they could do. And someone who works at HVS told me this.

Exactly.  It's not just because I don't agree with the score which would be less awsome of a reason, but because of the reveiw itself.  Their review has little basis in reality, and contains out right lies,  If they clearly can not do this review half way credibly, that is a major blow to their credibility for all their reviews.  They are less trust worthy then some reveiwer I know nothing about.
