Forums - Microsoft - I want to RROD my xbox

Do NOT listen to what anyone is saying in this thread.

There is a very efficient wat of making your 360 RROD that takes a few minutes. Three of my friends have done this and it works every time. I can give you the outline of what you have to do but since I have never done it the best thing you can do is to google the method and you should find it easily.

Basically what you do is take off the hard-drive and you should see a plastic bit there. If you take off that plastic part there is a piece inside that you need to wiggle around while you turn your 360 on and off. By doing this you will short circuit your 360 and get the rrod. My friend did this when his graphics card went a few months ago.

Keep in mind this is a basic outline of the method, to go farther in depth you need to google it. Also only do this if your sure the graphics card is about to go. I would recommend waiting untl after its died since you can still do it then any ways.

I think if it does die i'll try your idea...sounds pretty simple, and not as hazardous as wrapping it in a towel (which would most likely end up in a fire)  And the worst idea here is a toss up between putting it in the oven, and throwing it out a window from 2 stories ( i want rrod not a melted or broken to pieces 360 lol)

Wait til November and buy some AWESOME games. It'll red-ring instantly before you play them! Happened to me, two years in a row!!

Sounds good. If you have trouble finding the method on google tell me and I can call my friend and tell you exactly how to go about killing your 360 :)

Just play Fallout 3 or GTA4. Mine always crashes on those games. I've gotten the RROD two or three times, and fixed it by unplugging it and plugging it back in. My disc drive is faulty. That's why it freezes on big open world games. But yeah, put in a game that requires massive CPU and GPU strength and your system should croak.

Just phone the 360 support and tell them it's RRoDing or E74ing. When you call them, Don't call it the "Red Ring of Death", just play ignorant and say "It sometimes flashes red when i play a game for more then 20 mins" or "I get some kinda error message when i try to use it." In your case, since you are having graphics card errors, I'd go with the E74.

Tell it you're getting a Wii.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

Has anybody actually tried that? Did it work? Cuz if MS has all your info and they determin you were lying, wouldn't they have reason to believe you RRODed it on purpose?
