Blitz Games' KrissX Lives On

It was a nice surprise to see Encleverment Experiment finally announced earlier this week, but now we can also reveal KrissX is also still alive, and is being published by Konami.

KrissX, which I presume is pronounced "Criss Cross", is a game that involves a lot of crossword-styled puzzles which you need to solve. It was announced alongside Encleverment Experiment and Droplitz early last year, but we hadn't heard a word of it since.

Today the game was rated by the Australian Classication Board, revealing Konami publisher. Doing some more digging it appears the game is heading to both the Xbox Live Arcade and WiiWare platforms.

It's a little odd seeing Konami as the publisher of the game, considering they released the awful XBLA game Coffeetime Crosswords last year, but hopefully this time they'll get it right.

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

I am looking to start downloading more XBLA games soon. Any recommendations would be welcome

And this thread needs a sticky. It took me the longest time to find it

Uhh, check the other thread, I listed some things there. :)

Possible Dishwasher: Dead Samurai 2 Images Leaked

In addition to the leaked Halo Reach pictures this morning, images of the sequel to Dishwasher: Dead Samurai have apparently just hit the web. Though we don't know know how they were taken, we've heard the follow-up to James Silva's XBL indie favorite is in a playable form, and the images do seem legit. In any case, we're passing these along as well -- here's your first indication of what Dishwasher 2 might look like!

Xbox Live Arcade Sales Chart, October 2009

With the 'Summer of Arcade' promotion two months behind us, Xbox Live Arcade is experiencing a dip in sales with no new major heavy hitters since the massive promotion in July and August of this year. Old titles continue to roost toward the top of the list, while South Park: Lets Go Tower Defense Play! was the best selling new addition of the month.

Sales were off 25% during the same period last year, earning $5.3 million USD among all available titles compared to $7.0 million USD last year.

Only South Park managed to land in the top 10 list in terms of revenue for the month, with a solid 45,000 units sold during the tracking period. It debuted alongside new episodes on October 7th.

Trials HD continues to see incredible sales, as we estimate that 350,000 units have been sold since its launch in August of this year. Although it is not the fastest selling title of the year, it has held consistently high marks since it launched. It's performance is strikingly similar to Castle Crashers which has seen solid sales numbers month in and month out. Battlefield 1943 ranked #2 in overall revenue, up from #3 last month. It reduced its monthly sales numbers by 35% from the month prior, but should stabilize going forward.

Top 10 Games, by Revenue for October 2009:

XBLA sales should pick up again in November and December, with big games like Perfect Dark, Serious Sam, Call of Duty, Quake Arena, Doom 2, and Madden among the expected releases.
