Lostwinds Might Come To 360, PS3

In an interview with VideoGamer, Frontier studio boss David Braben has said that as the 360 and PS3 begin to adopt new control schemes, "opportunities may also change".

Pressed whether this meant Lostwinds could make its way to the HD consoles via Project Natal and Sony's motion controller, Braben said "Well who knows? All of these things are enabling new gameplay mechanics, some of which could be quite close to something like LostWinds."

"We're certainly doing more in the world of LostWinds anyway. The very fact that we're doing this sequel shows it's been successful. But also, what those opportunities are, we'll look at."

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

Screenshots, Concept Artwork For Spongebob GravJet Racing

From the screenshots, which you can check out below, a wide selection of old and new characters can be seen. Spongebob is obviously there, but we can also see the likes of Ren & Stimpy and Jenny from My Life As A Teenage Robot. They also show characters from more recent shows like Back at the Barnyard and The Mighty B, and a show that hasn't even started yet - Fanboy and Chum Chum.

Rare says time has passed for GoldenEye remake
Says we're 'long past the stage where an agreement was on the cards'.

An Xbox LIVE Arcade release for Rare's Nintendo 64 classic GoldenEye seemed, at one point, to be tantalisingly close, but legal problems meant the game sat in limbo.

Now, responding to a fan question about GoldenEye in the latest edition of Scribes, Rare has said the time for a jazzed-up port to XBLA is long gone.

"That was some time ago, my friend. Fate was against us that day. Destiny conspired to raise the hurdles even as we attempted to clear them, resulting in unpleasant groinal injury," said Rare. "I suspect we’re long past the stage where an agreement was on the cards, but you never know. Stranger things have happened… somewhere… probably."

NPD Group To Introduce Digital Sales Charts

The NPD Group's David Riley has told MCV "The charts are needed in much the same way that retail and online tracking services are needed."

"Objective third party tracking is essential to separating the wheat from the chaff. In other words, accurate tracking will provide a no-nonsense view of what's happening on the publisher level, keeping away from the spin, and in some cases, misleading information that often appears on the internet.

"Misinformation can have a dramatic, negative impact on a publisher's bottom line."

I predict XBLA sales domination.

Zombie Apocalypse didn't get released in Germany :(

Might check it out on the US PSN tomorrow though which is far easier to access. Looks like a nice remake of Robotron and I just like Nihilistic because they did Vampire: The Mascarade back in the day :)

New Xbox LIVE Arcade Games at Tokyo Game Show

Following up the success of the recent Summer of Arcade series on Xbox LIVE® Arcade, Microsoft announced a number of new Xbox LIVE Arcade titles at the Tokyo Game Show.

Snoopy Flying Ace

You can't have aerial dogfighting without the dog! Join Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the rest of the Peanuts gang in the premier online flight shooter on Xbox LIVE Arcade. The game features simple flight controls and a hangar full of customizable planes and weapons.

Defeat the Red Baron in Snoopy’s very own action flying game.

Snoopy Flying Ace takes addictive, fast-paced airborne combat to new heights, with solo and co-op challenges that will test your skills against the Flying Circus of the dreaded Red Baron. Remember, it ain't the size of the dog in the fight … it's the size of the fight in the dog!

Toy Soldiers

Toy Soldiers is a strategy-based game where you’re cast into a fantastic, miniature world where antique toy soldiers fight for survival using an exciting arsenal of weapons including tanks, fighter planes, and flame throwers in vintage WWI dioramas.

Developed by Signal Studios exclusively for Xbox 360, you can commandeer the action or sit back and watch as your assembled troops defend the area before the enemy storms over the top! Integrating multiple game genres, soldiers can fight on their own, or be controlled from a third-person mode. The game features more than 50 unique units across two distinct armies, as well as drivable tanks and flyable planes and zeppelins.

Playing with toy soldiers was never like this! Fight on the
battlefield or fly over it in this multi-genre Arcade game.

More from Japan

A number of upcoming Xbox LIVE Arcade games from Japanese developers are also on display at the Tokyo Game Show.

Ray Storm HD is just one of a number of Japanese-
developed Xbox LIVE Arcade games.

These include Hudson’s Bomberman Live: Battlefest, Taito’s Ray Storm HD, and Square Enix’s 0 Day Attack on Earth. Watch Xbox.com for more information on these titles.
