Forums - Gaming - Why do you want consoles/companies to fail?

I don't think I've ever seen Aion make a post more than one line long, and a lot of them are fanboyish. My point? Stop your bickering everyone.

OP: I don't. What I want is an even race so everyone has to bring their A-game (in both senses). Competition is good, if one or the other were to fail, the remaining would slack off and that's no good for us consumers.
So for every hater, just tell them that what they love probably wouldn't even exist without what they hate.

its called fanboys. they usually say it just to piss other fanboys off.

It's called business. The stronger product wins. It breeds competition. From the Colecovision/Amiga/Atari to the PS3/360/Wii, you have folks that love their said console and want the others to bite the dust.

I don't have a prob with folks disliking a console - but I do have a problem when folks hate so hard on a console that they'd threaten bodily harm on folks who think their console is better. And I can recall folks who threatened other posters on here with bodily harm because their console was getting called out. That's just immature, foolish and downright silly.

I can understand companies wanting to fail. But anyone normal person who likes games wants more right? I agree you can dislike a console but I still think wanting it to fail is stupid.

In business, there is little room for companies to all succeed. That waters down the profits and digs into your operating costs. There has to be a winner and a loser. That's the world of business. Why even go into business if you are taking losses? People enter business to succeed.

For me it isn't that I want the other company to fail, it's just that I want the company I'm cheering for to win. I like being competitive and I have chosen the team. I think it is fun to watch the console wars. The companies get way more into it, put out more quality product than they usually would and just boosts gaming's momentum through the roof.

I agree with the OP: competition is good for the consumer. In the other hand, I would like Sony to learn their lesson fast so I can afford a playstation console in the not so distant future.

And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

It was all started by a single fanboy a long long time ago when video games were primitive. He/She chewed out the fans of an opposing system. Then the fans of the opposing system became fanboys because they wanted to get back at the fanboy of System A. In this process they angered other fans of System A which brought up a whole slew of fanboys that attacked System B. It's a vicious cycle. But there are fanboys for every system and it pisses the hell out of me when people "troll". I mean seriously get a life, don't you have something better to do than get joy out of putting a system down?

And calling someone else a fanboy and saying xx is worse and xxx is blah blah only adds fuel to the fire. Why is it so hard to not talk bad about a system? I've been coming to this site for a couple of months I guess? And there are several members that stick out to me because their fanboyish remarks and trolling. They seriously spend 10-20 posts a day hating on another console. I just don't get it.
