Well....The 360 has ghahics just like the ps3 with less disc space.The Dreamcast had the least powerful graphics for the 6th gen and MS didn'tr also their last console wasn't their 3rd party killer buy a 3rd party starter. Also it played HD DVD which was important back than. No DVD support for the Dreamcast. The Dreamcast had tons of things going against it. 360 didn't Sega's flame was dieing but MS's was flame was getting bigger

It also helped xbox that EA published on it, which EA did not do for the Dreamcast. It hard not having some of the top sport game frachises on your system year after year (Yes I know NFL2k was awesome, but Madden is still a HUGE name)

DC wasn't the weakest console. Anyway, xbox was a failure, but ms knew that it was going to post a big loss. They just wanted to make their way into the console market because they were afraid consoles would end up to much like pc's.

Microsoft have spent more on refurbishing RROD Xbox 360's then what the entire of Sega is worth.

Even more interesting is why Sega's consoles failed -
Dreamcast had everything which is "normal" these days and nobody wanted it!?
Internet, analogue triggers, quite powerful, amazing games, even motion control which wasn't about light guns.
They just were ahead of everything.

Actually bigger reason for this is that Sony really screw with that 599$ price point. With brand  recognition of 2005 (PS domination at its highest) and under 399$ price point at launch PS3 would have crushed X360 in sales.
