Ok, so as the chart goes lower, its actually positive for the Wii marketshare, right? So if we overlaid the last annual trend that started showing like the trend of the past 4-5 months, it takes us to Sept 07. From that point, YOY, in Sept 08, the pattern shows a dramatic gain for Wii marketshare. With that in mind, a simialr YOY trend would show a significant marketshare gain within a year from the current trending pattern, in January 2010.
What also is interesting is how little of the marketshare was lost from Jan to June, as the Wii had only fluctuated by 0.3 percent marketshare. With that said, the pattern will likely happen on a smaller scale, only resulting in perhaps a 2-3% marketshare gain by 1/2010, but should still likely put it over the 50% threshhold.
At the end of it, it will be a matter of seeing the overall performance of the consoles in the 2nd half of this year. For what the industry's concerned, the year hasn't yet begun for gaming sales.
