Forums - Sony - Sony Not Playing 'Catch Up' with Xbox Live Anymore

The good thing in this interview is cross game chat is definitely incoming... He acknowledged it as a priority.

im pretty sure they still don't have cross game chat.

afaik there is still no VoD in Germany on the PSN. Xbox Live offers this for 2 years now.

And the deal with Sky (UK) and Canal + (France) will improve Xbox Live even further. Something like 1vs100 is not on the PSN.
Joy Ride as a free game with your avatar is not on the PSN. Twitter, Facebook, Netlfix, Last FM are missing. Everybody has a headset on Xbox Live. You can chat with people even when they are in totally different games, you can make pictures and start a photo party on Xbox Live, you can have a video chat on Xbox Live, Xbox Live has a lot of more content than PSN (DLC, Arcade are HUGE). You can use your Windows Live Messenger on Xbox Live with changing status updates etc etc etc

There are lots of things that work perfectly well on Xbox Live.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

PSN will always be leaps behind xbl as its free. People aren't going to pay for a half ass service or pay for something that you can get exactly the same thing free somewhere else.

Live has a few functions that are better than on PSN like cross game voice chat or parties.

Still, there's nothing like Vidzone (Sony free music videos) on 360, no web browser, not many dedicated servers either, no Home, no 64+ or 256 players game. All that is on PSN for free.

So I agree with the Sony guy, both services are rather close right now, PSN is better in some things, Live is better in others...

@rckrz6: I agree people won't pay long for something they can have for free. The more Sony catches up with Live, the less subscribers Live will have.

It is crazy they are still not there...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Yeah, I wonder what makes cross gaming voice chat so difficult on PS3. I wouldn't use it myself, but it doesn't sound that difficult, running something like Skype in background...

Honestly, the only thing that I care about is that PSN its free. I refuse to pay for something I've been getting for free on PC for years now, no matter how good it is. Having said that theres still a lot of room for improvement.

Consoles aren't PC's.

PSN works fine for me. Once I have Cross game chat there's no real plus in XBL to me.

4 ≈ One

i dont no i think XBL is still better but its one big mess its hard to find what i want while PSN is just so simple
