I told you guys last year.

Google will put a huge pressure on Ms come 2014.

I also said that google will be the reason that MS would leave Gaming industry ,,,not sony or Nintendo.Cause when they have a fierce competition for their main income they have put much more resources on their main income which is OS and cut the division that is not giving them anything.

Your conclusions make absolutely no sense...xbox isn't losing money for M$, so get's out of something making money?  Google's revenue stream is in far greater peril's than M$, since it's so focused, whereas M$ is diversified and far reaching.  Windows 7 is goign to be a corporate and government OS for the next 5 years, and you're assuming M$ is going to fall asleep again, like they did on vista...not likely.

im all for a google os... as long as they don't track everything i do with it, which they like to do.

Please follow the links and read the original announcement. It's a general-purpose OS only in the amount in which web applications can fulfill all your needs, as it will be basically a Chrome browser acting as a shell running over a Linux kernel, probably leveraging remote storage and the such.

It can basically replace Windows and its Office suit for some users who can work with Goggle's web-based word processor, spreadsheet and presentation software and are used to syncing their data between their netbook and "the cloud".

It's not a replacement (today) for traditional, local OSs when it comes to CADs, intensive graphics manipulation, video editing, or gaming.

And being open-source means that it won't secretly track anything you do. Your ISP, on the other hand, will :)

wow. Ubuntu has helped to familiarize people with the concept of Linux and not make it super scary.

Now that Ubuntu has busted the door open, the floodgates are going to open up in the OS market.

Finally. Competition only pushed companies to make their products better. This is all but a bad thing.

They have lost billions with the Xbox 360. Although Xbox 360 is now posting profits, it won't recoup the money, and will end up in the red.

yay finally ubuntu, fedora and suse , pclinux os competition!

I'm scared.

I don't think I would use a Google OS, not immediately at least. Google's privacy practices are very bad. I don't know if this will be the case, but I wouldn't be surprised if a Google OS constantly sends information about what I'm doing on the computer to Google, for targeted ads or whatever.
