Well I read almost through the entire discussion and seriuosly just by seeing the thread title it was so predictable that , as always, an army of xbots would defend their games from psfanboys to death.

Why do people create threads with titles that are a troll?
And why do fanboys from each side always bite the bait?
Why does a forum that was created to discuss gaming is like a damn war, no matter what?

I really don't care about sales and companies, just about playing games, and psrock has a great point. Sony has already delivered three great games. One that graphically won't be touched by any 360 game at least this year. killzone 2 is one of the games i have liked the most in my whole life. Initially i made really poor game choices on the ps3, like heavenly sword ( 5 hours long) and motorstorm 1( no split and horrible online), but after getting killzone 2 i felt that my console purchase and desision had been the right one.

The 360 is a great console just as the ps3, but giving my opinion on their 2009 line up the only game I would really like is Star Ocean IV, and in my personal life, I have actually showed to some 360 owining friends great ps3 games, and they were wowed by them, especially killzone 2, and now thanks to that, in some months I will be able to play online with them. - Note: 360 has also many great games-

Now to the point, Legend11 must be laughing his ass out by seeing the fanboy war he sparked with this thread, quite possibly on purpose. Just look at the title. T

However, If he did mean his post, he forgot some really great ps3 games that came on the years first half, that way demosntrating that as an xbot he wants to forget these months in which his console hasn't had anything to compete. - now note that to avoid sounding like im trolling ill say this: PS3 sucked complete ass the first year, and 360 is a great console, it just didnt have great game releases these motnhs( but on other times whew... so many good games). He really sounded as if he went to ign and copied the game descriptions.

For 360 owners the games that are to come on 2009 for their console will be great, beacuse they are extensions to their games, and sequels from franchises that have always been popular on xbox.

However as a ps3 owner I am not excited for that line up, beaucse i dont like halo very much, dont like racing sims and splinter cell has never been my cup of tea( I prefer a lot more mgs).

So, really great year for both console's owners, fall will be especially crazy on gaming releases, and PLEASE STOP THE STUPID FANBOY WARS AND TROLLING.

The second expansion for one of the biggest HD games of 2008 arrives in Fall 2009.  If the first installment is any indication we're in for something truly special as the Xbox 360 remains the exclusive console home for the complete Grand Theft Auto 4 experience.  And speaking of The Lost and Damned, both it and this expansion will also be available as a retail disc titled Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City.

 

Forza Motorsport 3
Release Date: October 2009

With over 400 different cars and 100 tracks this game looks to be a monster rivaled only by Gran Turismo 5.  The game features a massive overhaul of the previous installment's graphics engine allowing 10 times the number of polygons and 4 times the texture resolution.  It also includes significant improvements in AI and physics and an amazing amount of stats tracking and community features.  All this plus additional innovations to the genre make for what will likely be the definitive racing experience on console in 2009. 



Splinter Cell: Conviction
Release Date: October 2009

One of the most talked about games of E3, this graphically stunning game takes the Splinter Cell franchise in a new direction.  New gameplay features in addition to much more interactive enviroments will attempt to keep players more immersed in the game.  With a relatively long development time it'll be interesting to see if it pays off when this game is released in October 2009.

 

Left 4 Dead 2
Release Date: November 2009

Valve, one of the premier developers of FPS games brings a new installment in the Left 4 Dead 2 franchise.  Although controversy surrounds this game you can bet that Valve will do it's best to give fans one of the best games in the genre.  The game will include additional new weapons, enemy types, playable characters, full story mode, as well as an improved AI Director that will even better tailor the game experience to the players abilities.



1 vs 100
Release Date: 2009

One of the most innovative games of the year comes to Xbox Live in 2009.  A massively multiplayer online game with players having the chance to win real prizes.  The game will feature a live host as well as an extended version with a taped one.  The game will be free to play for all Xbox Live Gold subscribers.  It will be interesting to see what kind of impact this game will have for the Xbox 360.

 

In addition to those there are other exclusives as well as many major third-party games that makes the lineup for 2009 one of the 360's best yet.

You've missed looooooooads of 360 games off that list, get it sorted lol.

But yeah, this year is a great year for the 360, it's the only console I play now :)

We should start a new term to coin these multiplatform exclusive instead of getting people all pissed off because of misuse of terminology.

I proposed the term 'noton'.

Somehow those lists look a bit more impressive to me that the (noton) PS3 list, especially since half of your list or more is available on PC.

Yeah because my 'noton' 360 are - in fact - real PS3 exclusives and are unavailable on PC. Besides being mostly better games, they're noton PC too.

Not really, ODST and Conviction will be awesome but that's all I really care for. Now 2010, maybe. That looks even better than '07.

LOL why would your list hurt me? It's not as if I don't have a PS3, I in fact game on it more than my 360 because I hate MS policy on paid multiplayer play. (check my profile)

And please don't don't kid yourself with that upcoming exclusive list, the 360 has more exclusive even outside its shared PC portfolio to match the PS3 game for game.

@mibuokami : yeah, MS surely has more incoming exclusives with its 3 internal studios than Sony with its 20+ studios.

It totally makes sense. They were just not on your list.
