Forums - Nintendo - No Added Sugar Sports Resort review

Hey folks.
Came across this thread so thought I'd sign up to Vgchartz. I'm the author of the No Added Sugar.ie review of Wii Sports Resort. Thanks for the comments about the review.
I agree with what Dolby said above about basing your impressions of a game off a numerical score assigned to it by just one or two reviews. I gave it a 9 because I think its head and shoulders above the original, and I think it has more long term staying power. I personally think IGN AU wrote a very poor review- although many criticisms they made are valid, I don't agree with their conclusions.
I would be confident that when the reviews start pouring in, the consensus will not reflect IGN AU's position. Still, games reviews are about horses for courses- and only you can make up your mind about whether its a game you want to play.

Do games like WSR need to be reviewed. It wont have any effect on the sales at all. Most people who play that game don't read reviews.

If you want to take cheap shots or outright bash me, then create an official thread for that. Something like the "All PS3 is doomed articles go in here" thread. I am tired of having to deal with that garbage all across the forums.

Aw, if you're not being sarcastic then I apologize.  I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.

It's okay. *sniff* I can handle this situation. *sniff*

I am a manly man after all.

Just remember to always ask yourself, "What would Samurai Goroh do here?"

I think its really important that games like this ARE reviewed. A lot of casual games are misunderstood/ignored/underappreciated by many games sites for whatever reason. Also, the point of reviewing a game isn't to contribute to sales for that game but to try and improve people's awareness and understanding of it, and to inform them on it.

Well, people don't take change so easily. Nintendo brought something new which the so called hardcores are not used to, so they either ignore it, bash it or put it down. But, given a few years, those games will be the norm.

Ok... I thought about writing something in the same basis as my previous posts, but I'll be serious this time. The last couple of years, I lost my confidence in "official" reviews. They made me spend 50€ in GTA4, Halo 3 and Fable 2, after all. Mostly I go through gut feeling and people comments on boards like this. And this independent (I believe) websites are always a much more reliable source.

This said... of course my intention posting this was as a reply to IGN AU review. And of course that, by giving 9 to WSR, no matter who you are, you deserve it be here.

Welcome, noaddedsugar ;)

Site needs to find some games that they don't think are great to review. Going through their archive I can't find a single review that scored below 8.

I don't think we should force reviews to review garbage just so we see different numbers.
