As a very proud Disgaea 3 owner (I'll get VC soon, once I'm done with demon's souls), I'd like to say Disgaea 3 but the real answer is simply....

Not yet but I plan on getting the Raspberyl episode 1-4 pack very soon.

My girlfriend is going to need a game to play and she is a HUGE Disgaea lover. She already finished Disgaea 3 with like 130 hours put in.

Episodes last quite a while too, so the pack could probably add at least another few hours or so. Possibly more depending on how you play. Each downloaded character also comes with a battle so I have a few of those.

Valkyria Chronicles is an sRPG with a mediocre story, weak characters, gorgeous visuals, and an innovative battle system.

Disgaea is an sRPG with a hilarious story, great characters, nice visuals, and a pretty standard battle system.


If you want a pretty sRPG then go with Valkyria.
If you want a hilarious sRPG then go with Disgaea.

And now... its all gone... and Disgaeas visuals is shyte, my PSP has better visuals. true the story is funny, but thats about it... its not in the same leauge as Valkyria not by a longshot.

I don't understand.  You've highlighted my commentary on the story and characters yet you're attacking my opinion that Disgaea 3 has nice visuals?  Were you just too afraid to actually touch those points or do you agree with me?

The disgaea bit was just a little "counter opinion" VS your Valkyria one...

I agree to disagree with you on both subjects, but not entirely. 50% of what you said on both are true.

If you aren't into the grinding aspect of RPGs in general Valkyria is definitely the better buy. A lot of the fun from the Disgaea series is the post-game grinding. There is some level building but in Disgaea 3 once you have the right equipment set-up it takes literally a minute or so to go from level 1 to level 9999.

I'd go with Pokemon, though. You can never beat Pokemon.

Well, Valkyria seems it'd appeal more to the average RPG gamer, but Disgaea has insane value. I loved Valkyria more (obviously) but both are great games.
