@sguy78 Last time I checked the majority of houses in the US don't have basements but you wouldn't know that since you live in your own universe keep on drinking that Kool-Aid.

Really, did you do research on the amount of basements there are in this country? If your parents did have one, I'm sure you would be living there.

I did a quick google search on it, and can't find anything other then a $3,000 report that talks about market share of basements homes.

If I had to guess, a majority of homes in the country have basements. Almost all the upper half of the country have them, and I think there are more houses in the top half. He lives in Texas, and very few houses in the south have basements (I grew up in Dallas).

Something else to consider....

We spend WAY more then anyone else per captia when it comes to developing new technologies and cures.

Will this continue with socialized healthcare or will it drop off drastically like every other rich socialized nation... and if it does.  How worse off is the World?

Would more uniform US treatment lead to overall poorer treatment as cures found are pushed back years and years... and possibly never funded?

What do the colors mean?

As far as I can tell?

Canada likes decoration.

Actual article can be found here

http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/rma/dpr/03-04/CIHR-IRSC/cihr-irscd3401_e.asp

It talks about public grants but i beleive the graph is just per capita in general since it's talking about how to keep top research teams in the UK.  And I can't see how the government could spend that large percent of the US GDP on grants.

you know why it's that way? It's because there's a shit load of money to be made with new medicine

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

@sguy78 if you had an ounce of common knowledge about housing in the US you would know that most houses don't have basements but keep on living in your own universe where most of the houses in the US have basements whatever makes you happy. But don't be surprised if you come across as a total asshole to the majority of people you meet.

Yeah.  Kinda my point.

If there isn't a shit load of money to be made... and that money goes away...

it doesn't get replaced.

A LARGE chunk of the worlds medical funding suddenly goes down the drain.

Wouldn't this negativly effect future discoveries drastically and in turn negativly effect future healthcare?

Yawn...I think I'll do fine. I don't go around insulting random people like you do buddy.

Chris,

I think more houses have basements. If not, it's damn close. Also, you might want to cut back on the personal attacks. It will get you banned, and if I had to guess, your comments in this thread already warrant it (you did call him an asshole).

@TheRealMafoo check the being of the thread he's the one that's paranoid thinking that everyone is trying to get him. Also you forgetting that a large number of people are living in apartments so my point about basements is still valid.

About (+-)50% of research funding comes from big pharmaceutical compagnies and they tend to be more competive then cooperative some if compagnie A discover cure for aids they won't give the info to compagnie B so compagnie B will still spend money to cure aids, what I want to say with that is a lot of that 67$ goes to waste so more money doesn't mean more cures but , yes there's a but, more money doesn't hurt either that's why the Us is the leading country in new cures

I'm not being paranoid, you are attacking. Wake up buddy. I mean do you realize it's a figure of speech? Why are you so stuck up on the number of basements in this country?
