Hang on people!!
I've just been told to add big huge games to both my list of studios opened by MGS and my list of studios closed by MGS.

Sorry BigPark Inc. The guys who are making Joy Ride. MS bought them a little before E3.
People! You can stop hanging on now!!
The mystery is solved and mostly hinges on Scott forgetting to write that studio down
Here is a list of owned franchises and properties, I am not sure about a couple of these, as it is from Wikipedia:
The exclusive deal with Ubisoft for Splinter Cell is along hte lines of what I envisioned for MGS and 3rd party developers:

Get in early, and help the developer defray the cost of developing games, and ensure you reduce their risk and exposure to a failed title. The game is ROI, and a bird in the hand, is far better than a thousand in the bush. MGS needs to be far more agressive in push out some of those those MGS IP, and locking in development by 3rd parties, effectively making them 2nd party for certian titles...just like sony has done in some cases.
most employees from those closed studios moved to inhouse development studios of MGS(like Ensemble Studios were almost all the emplyees went to different MGS studios). they have less development teams, but people from disbanded studios to the bigger ones. i would love to see Freelancer, Mechwarrior and Rallisport Challenge made by Turn10. am i the only one who would like to play N.U.D.E. 2 with Natal?
killer instinct would be a good way to get some old skool players back into the fray..something that SFIV did extremely well..
Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:
a. a AAA 3D sonic title
b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"
c. redesgined PS controller
d. SEGA back in the console business
e. M$ out of the OS business
What about Ruffian Games? Aren't they a MGS funded developer as well? I could be mistaken but weren't they essentially founded because Microsoft REALLY wanted a sequel to Crackdown.
