Nintendo has stated numerous times in the last few years that they don't like this pricing model where customers expect an eventual price cut of software and so far they sticked to this. Neither the Wii nor the DS have Player's Choice offerings right now.

That explains why we haven't seen any player's choice for the 7th generation. Considering we're this far in, it's doubtful we'll see them change their mind at all. I don't mind though. I've always viewed Player's Choice, Greatest Hits, Classics, etc to be a shameful business tactic as you're trying to get people to buy into peer pressure. From my standpoint slapping something like Player's choice on it says to a potential consumer that this game is really popular! You should buy it for that reason. Also it's lowered in price.
If nintendo is abandoning this policy in favor of selling their games for what they truly offer the consumer. Fun and enjoyment. All the more power to them.
