It's good that you are encouraging your friend to try better games. But he sounds hard headed and only want's to play overhyped crap. If he wants to be that way let him. It's his loss if he doesn't want to experience the best gaming has to offer.
@leo-j
did you NOT GET THE MESSAGE
he said "Because I feel like it"
because you were annoying him with constant questions

It was the first question I asked, and he responded with "idk I feel like it", I didnt ask many questions we were just having a regular discussion.

| NightstrikerX said: Onyxmeth has a point, but I don't think Leo-J is so much shoving his opinion down someone's throat. I think he's trying to encourage rational thought behind his game buying and game choices. I imagine if there was a world where nobody encouraged someone else to think outside the box, and try new things. Many games would not exist. My 2 cents. :P |
Well the thing is, based on the way leo typed his OP out, I can read between the lines of what his friend was really saying. It's not that he didn't have reasons to purchase the games he wants to, I'm sure he does. He just doesn't want to have to justify those choices to his questioning friend, so instead of providing reasons for someone annoying him, he basically tried to shut him up and move on to a different topic. You can obviously see the agenda behind leo's words that he's trying to sway his friend away from Modern Warfare 2 and back towards Assassin's Creed 2 and the new Ratchet and Clank game, even though critical acclaim, sales, general public opinion and anything else you can use as a comparison point is clearly behind the superior Modern Warfare. It really doesn't justify questioning someone's judgement on two single player games since it will never affect the friend at all, so why ask why in the first place?
If the friend desn't want a certain game in favor of another, then just leave it be. Leo's line of questioning is bordering on interrogation. Look at the FFVII line of questioning. There's an original "why not?". The friend says "I don't know". Leo pushes the issue further. The friend says "I don't want to read for 60 hours". Leo pushes the issue further. The friend says "I don't feel like wasting my money on PSOne games". Leo pushes the issue further. The friend says "PSOne games are a ripoff". Leo pushes the issue further.
Let...it...the...fuck...go.
I'd be signing out of MSN to avoid that shit also.

Since when is debateing stupid? I guess he could just be (not in the mood) to say why. But, I love to debate over games. I think it could just be a case of that.

Did you even read my first post? It has nothng to do with you forcing your opinion on your friends. It's about you talking bad about your friends on forums.
The OP isnt worded exactly how it went down.. I think this is why you guys are getting a discombobulated picture =S
