Forums - Nintendo - The Conduit - 140k debut, 1.13m lifetime prediction by SimExchange

I wouldn't be surprised if the grinder was the 3rd game to use wii speak, highvoltage is the last hardcore 3rd party company taking the wii seriously and I really hope wii owners don't let'em down listening to bs reviews or cod fans who never played a real fps in their entire lives, if your interested in buying the game and you like fps games then buy it..........

Ah. I bet they mean $5 profit per game sold. After buying the merchandise, paying rent, labour, marketing, etc. And itt's probably an average.

This might be a little high but not too far off. I think its about what I said. Anyway, if this is to be trusted, I predict between 750k-1.4 mil ltd. That means, yes we are getting The Conduit 2, and HVS could go on to be the next Bungie or Epic.

I only think it will be on the low end of my prediction range if there is a major third party with a FPS in development to compete with it now.  Red Steel 2 doesn't count since it doesn't have an online mode...

^ This is you!

this game is really fun...i hope it sells 1 million+

hvs could use that money for conduit 2 and the grinder to make them even better

i think the conduit will sell 120k first week and 1.3 mio. lifetime....that would be a huge success for hvs

I think people need reading comprehenstion lessons

Spelling lessons as well, evidently.

Hmm, I thought these were the numbers that came in, guess we gotta wait a tad longer. That'd be a solid amount in my mind for sales in the Americas.

Why dont we havé any numbers hère since almost 2 weeks ?????

So, its not going to hit the 3 to 7 million mark that the top exclusive fps on a console with an install base of over 50 million and a truely diverse audience of gamers would be expected to get?

If your comparing it to Halo then no the Conduit will not reach that high level gamers expect. But how many FPS on PlayStation or PlayStation2 hit the 7-million mark? or even the 3 million mark? Not that many my best guess is The Conduit will sell between 1-2million units during its lifecycle. Far exceeding fan expectations or VGChartz own 300,000 estimate!

Yeah, but if the goal of the blue ocean strategy is to take all of these non gamers and turn them into real gamers ( as was often said to be the case when the Wii was first released), then two and a half years into the Wii's lifespan when you have many of the system's better and higher-rated t and m games essentially tapping out at in the 1.5 to 2 million range while similar games on 360 and PS3 sell many more copies and Fitness and introductory Wii products continue to sell 10 million or more copies, then it seems like the Wii really isn't taking nongamers and turning them into real gamers (and the sales of games in other traditional genres also give some confirmation to this too  - the sales of Marvelous games and the fact that the system's highest rated game and a big budget title from Nintendo Mario Galaxy's sales come nowhere near matching those for Wii Sports and Wii Fit).

Good posts Amp316 and psrock.  Also, certain mods must not have some kind of unjustified biases against you as they do me because I don't see them banning you for just making accurate if somewhat hurtful to Wii fan's feelings because they are true statements like they often do me.

If the Conduit sells more then 100k in the US in first week it will be a considerable success.

If its accurate then thats very good news.

If it sold 100,000 first week. then it would have made 5 million dollars that week. That is a lot of money. But, I would say it also costs a lot of money to buy advertising time during Monday Night Raw.
