Xbox is a great name, and it's well established already. Xbox is even a slightly better name than Playstation.
'Xbox' sounds a lil bit generic, but 'Playstation' sounds quite childish nowadays. And Wii is just a terrible name.

By your logic Sony should also change the Playstation brand name. Playstation is just as stupid but just as Playstation is well accepted nowadays so is the Xbox brand name. Xbox 360 may be a lame name as well but we came to accept it just like people came to accept the Nintendo Wii name which is the worst game console name EVER! BTW the 360 in X360 has a meaning. They added it to represent the 360 degrees of change in Xbox from one generation to the next. Better networking, wireless controllers, larger community/social implementation, huge makeover in the graphics/physics department, rewards system (Achievements), their goal to have community games and videos on LIVE and add in their goals for the revamped Marketplace. Now we have Netflix and soon will have Games on Demand, Last.fm, Facebook etc. and Project Natal down the line and don't forget about Primetime Games like 1 vs 100. It is easy to see why they wanted to name it Xbox 360 instead of say Xbox 2.

Xbox 360 wants to Kinect & PS3 wants to Move! Why are both systems having such relationship problems? The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

At the dude who keeps saying I want the name change just for the Japanese market thats dumb because I dont really give a damn. Im just saying that can be one of the benefits of a name change.

Just because the Japanese don't like it, doesn't mean we have to change it. Microsoft is an American brand, you know. Sony and Nintendo are Japanese, so naturally they have a more favorable audience in that region.

We read what you said. You want them to rename their successful brand because you don't like it. How are we even supposed to reply to that? No one in history has ever wanted a console and then not bought it because of the name, so giving up brand recognition to please some inexplicably irate guy on VGChartz would be mentally bankrupt, to put it mildly.
