Dragon Quest IX will be released in just one week, July 11th.

According to Sinobi its first shipment will exceed 2 million units.

The best-selling game of the franchise is Dragon Quest VII with 3.893.293 units.

Dragon Quest VIII sold less units than its predecessor but it's the chapter with the higher first week sales, 2.236.881 units. (The game was released on Saturday so actually it's just two days)

Do you think Dragon Quest IX will surpass Dragon Quest VIII first week sales and Dragon Quest VII LTD sales?

I'm fairly sure it'll be the highest selling game in the series when all is said and done. I have a feeling that the game will break 2m first week, and if it doesn't, it'll be very close to it.
